If you cannot open your ADOC file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a ADOC file directly in the browser:. Programs that open and convert ADOC files:
- Asciidoctor by Asciidoctor Developers
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. ADOC files are often referred to as Asciidoctor simple text files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- Secure Office (protected document) by AuthenticaSecure Office is a discontinued application which wraps Office documents in password-protected ZIP archives to add a layer of protection to documents transferred over the internet. Word documents secured by Secure Office were saved in ADOC files. This file format is classified as Encoded.
ADOC file format:
To view or edit ADOC files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. Nonetheless, different programs can utilize the same file extension to represent distinct file formats. Double-clicking on the file often results in an error when opening. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our evaluation of the ADOC files looks like this:
ADOC is one of the most common file extensions and mainly uses a defined ADOC format. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 95% of all ADOC files use the ZIP format, so multiple files are compressed and stored together in one ADOC file. The included 4 to 9 files have file names such as mimetype, \META-INF\manifest.xml, \META-INF\relations.xml, \META-INF\signature1.xml and \META-INF\signatures\signatures1.xml. You can see the included files and images by renaming the file extension to .zip and then double-clicking it. A typical file size is 81 KB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. META-INF/manifest.xml, mimetypeK,(, adoc-2008PK and archyvai. Files like these have the following tags: autogenerateddocument, dokumentas, priedas, sutartis, mektub, pasira, application and ytas.
- 1% of all ADOC files start with the bytes 3A 73 crucial for this file format. If you open these files in a text editor, you can view and read the content yourself. The files are often between 4 KB and 60 KB in size. The following keywords are characteristic: source-highlighter, :icons: font and sectnums. The file name README.adoc is typical for these files.
All other ADOC files (4%) have no uniform format, often e.g. UTF-8, include and Author. Tagged as internet, pasirasytas, acilmasi, bankda, hesab or auth. You can get all the details of your ADOC file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .adoc file to analyze" above.
