What is an ALS file

ALS files mostly belong to Live by Ableton. ALS filename extension is associated with Live Sets (audio projects) created with Live audio production and live performance software. These ALS files contain audio clips arranged in a musical timeline. A Live Set doesn't contain audio data. Instead, it contains project settings/metadata and references to clips. Live stores these ALS files as Gzip-compressed XML data. The "Collect and Save" function in Live can be used to gather all external resources referenced by a Live Set into the folder containing the ALS file. How to open ALS files

You need a suitable software like Live to open an ALS file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your ALS file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a ALS file directly in the browser:.
