What is an AXD file?

AXD files mostly belong to ASP.NET by Microsoft. An AXD file is a web resource handler for an application hosted on an ASP.NET server. It contains a script which processes and responds to client (browser) requests for static files such as JS, CSS, JPEG, PDF etc. Some of the most common AXD files in an ASP.NET project are WebResource.axd and Trace.axd. An ASP.NET resource handler may also assign AXD filename extension to a static file (e.g. image, document, or archive) which a client downloads from an ASP.NET server. How to open an AXD file
