What is a BCC file

BCC files mostly belong to Outlook. The BCC file is not a single type but can belong to two distinct groups.
For one group, BCC files use a Microsoft Compound format to store calendar data. These files keep records of calendar events and scheduling details. They are used by applications such as Calendar Creator and are supported by programs like Microsoft Outlook.
For another group, BCC files are actually ZIP archives that contain Indonesian payroll data. In this case, the file is a compressed container and can be opened with standard archive utilities like WinZip or 7-Zip.

• If your file is the calendar type, it will have a structure similar to other compound binary files and holds event information.
• If it is the payroll type, try renaming the extension to .zip and use an archive tool to view its contents.

How to open a BCC file

You need a suitable software like Outlook to open a BCC file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your BCC file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a BCC file directly in the browser:. The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. In the following you will find our evaluation of the BCC files:

BCC is rarely used as a file extension and includes different formats for different programs. The following file formats are most commonly found in BCC files:

• 40% of all BCC files are based on the Microsoft Compound File format, which is also known as Compound File Binary File format (CFBF or CFB) or OLE2 Compound Document format. Microsoft Compound File is a complex container format used by some versions of Microsoft Office and other Windows-centric applications. It has features similar to those of a filesystem format. The file signature of compound files is defined as D0 CF 11 E0 A1 B1 1A E1, so the first character of a file looks like "DOCFILE". They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. A typical file size is 560 KB. The file type is old but is used even today. Such files are related to calendar and family, and usually contain person-related data.
• 7% of all BCC files are based on the zip format, the BCC file contains a number of compressed files. A BCC file can contain up to 60 files (mostly 51 - 53). Common included file names are M_GAJI.DBF, M_GAJIPOL.DBF, M_KEKURANGAN1.DBF, M_KEKURANGAN1POL.DBF, M_KEKURANGAN2POL.DBF, M_KEKURANGAN3POL.DBF, M_LEMBUR.DBF, M_LEMBURPOL.DBF, M_LIBURPOL.DBF, M_MAKAN.DBF, M_RESTORETUKIN.DBF, M_RESTORETUKINTNI.DBF, MPOTSLIP.DBF, MPOTSLIPPOL.DBF, POTS and POTSLIP.DBF. Tip: If you rename the file ending to .zip and then double-click it, you see the included files and images. The files are 350 KB to 5 MB in size, with a median of 4 MB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as MPOTSLIP.DBF.
