What is a BCD file?

BCD files mostly belong to Windows by Microsoft. A BCD file contains the definition of an ARM board chip or microprocessor. This file is created by the RealView Debugger (RVD) component of Development Studio. It contains a description and memory map of an integrated circuit for a microprocessor that is in development. BCD is also the filename extension of a boot settings file on Windows Vista, 7, and 8. This file is saved in Windows Registry Hive (REG) format and it is used by the NT Loader (NTLDR) at boot time. Another type of BCD file is a design document created with OfficePrinter desktop publishing software.

How to open a BCD file

You need a suitable software like Windows to open a BCD file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
