CH file format details:
Why is it important to know the file format? This is the only way to find out which program to use to open the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Below you will find our evaluation of the CH files:
Files with the CH extension are quite widely used. This file type does not have a uniform file format. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 20% of all CH files use the same file format, which have the signature 03 31. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. The average file size is 75 KB with most files being between 10 KB and 340 KB in size. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. The file name FID1A.ch or dad1A.ch is characteristic of these files.
- 10% of all CH files internally utilize the JPG file format. JPEG is the standard image format for lossy and compressed image data. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The files are often between 32 KB and 5 MB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. Exif, BlackBerry and Research In Motion. The file name FILE0004.CH or FILE0005.CH is characteristic of these files.
The remaining 70% of all CH files are files with no common format, the following 12 formats can be found: Source, bin, REMF, DATA, Text and BlackBerry. The category is protonmail, evilsi, comrules or tiff. If you want to find out what your CH file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.

- Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest CH file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Agilent ChemStation update.
- To make sure that your CH file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .CH file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
