What is a DRI file?

DRI files mostly belong to EAGLE CAM. DRI files serve multiple specialized purposes in different industries.
EAGLE CAM drill files are widely used in printed circuit board manufacturing. These files store drill data such as hole diameters, positions, and other instructions used by CNC machines to create circuit boards.
There are other applications as well:

MV3000 drive settings: These files contain configuration details for drive systems, such as those used in Parker drive setups.

How to open a DRI file

You need a suitable software like EAGLE CAM to open a DRI file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your DRI file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a DRI file directly in the browser:. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. DRI is not a commonly used file extension and predominantly uses a uniform format. The following file formats are most commonly found in DRI files:

75% of all DRI files start with the bytes Generated by EAGLE CAM Processor crucial for this file format. The contents of these files can even be read by a human. The files are often between 810 bytes and 1 KB in size. It is a modern file type. The keywords Drill Station, Drill Station Info File, Info File, Date, Drills, Users, Generated by EAGLE CAM Processor 7 and eagle are typical for these files. These files are attributed to schematic, sensor and board.
5% of all DRI files start with the magic bytes START_HEADER, which are always the first bytes of this file format. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. DRI files can be up to 340 KB in size, but are often around 340 KB - 340 KB. The keywords Comment, Date, Drive, END_HEADER, MV3000, START_EDITS, START_HEADER, SWVers, Table, Time, Units, Value and Default are typical for these files.
