All about ICON Files
The ICON file type is primarily associated with Chromium.
What is an ICON file
Depending on the internal format, an ICON file may contain vector graphics (such as those created in the Source2 format used by Chromium projects) or be rendered as a PNG or JPEG image. In some cases, the file may even hold a 3D model format (see the Wavefront .obj file reference) or a X-Windows icon format used in Unix systems (information available at Hexagon).
These files are applied in several scenarios:

How do you open ICON files?
You need a suitable software like Chromium to open an ICON file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your ICON file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a ICON file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.
