Opening an NGD File
The NGD file type is primarily associated with NimbleScan.
What is an NGD file?
NGD files mostly belong to NimbleScan by NimbleGen Systems Inc. NimbleScan is a proprietary NimbleGen software package designed for automated placement of a design-specific grid on NimbleGen array images, extraction of the corresponding feature intensity raw values, linkage of the raw intensity values with the corresponding probe description parameters, and generation of analysis reports for expression, ChIP-chip and resequencing arrays.
How to open NGD files
You need a suitable software like NimbleScan to open an NGD file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your NGD file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a NGD file directly in the browser:. Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. NGD is not that commonly used as a file extension. This file type mainly uses a defined NGD format. The two most popular formats are as follows:
- 98% of all NGD files have no uniform signature. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The files are 370 bytes to 120 KB in size, with a median of 11 KB. The file type was created 20 years ago but is still used today. An example of a file name is C01.ngd. Such files are related to vitara, brezza, swift, ertiga, baleno, fail and nyfj.
