You need a suitable software like Apple Notes to open a NOTE file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your NOTE file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a NOTE file directly in the browser:. NOTE file format:
To view or edit NOTE files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our examination of the NOTE files comes to the following conclusion:
The NOTE extension is very commonly used. This NOTE file itself is among the most popular common file types and mainly uses a defined NOTE format. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 85% of all NOTE files are based on the zip format, the NOTE file contains a number of compressed files. Primarily 11 to 19 files are included. Tip: If you rename the file ending to .zip and then double-click it, you see the included files and images. Most of these files are 120 KB to 17 MB in size. Files like these are about book, lecture, notes, chapter, assignment, exam, week, review, class and quiz.
- 4% of all NOTE files start with the bytes 00 00 04 08 00, which are crucial for this file format. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. NOTE files can be up to 28 KB in size, but are often around 1 KB - 12 KB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. TU9ESUZJRURUSU1FX05PVEVTXz. A common filename is note.note.
All other NOTE files (11%) have no uniform format, frequently e.g. Handrite Note document, XML, note and FILE. The category is elen, midterm, homework, sheet, project, introduction, questions, intro or math. Just click the "Choose your .note file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your NOTE file is.
