Opening an NSD File
The NSD file type is primarily associated with Structorizer.
What is an NSD file?
NSD files are also used in the maritime field. In this case, they hold ship-related data such as container information, voyage details, and stowage records. This data is used in scheduling tools and planning systems developed by companies like Tier72, Navisworks, and Navis Stowage Designer. Some NSD files in this domain are known as Nautical Data Standard files. For more on the maritime side, you might check information at Autodesk Navisworks or visit Navis Stowage Designer.
FilExt.com notes: When working with an NSD file, first determine its origin. If it contains XML-based diagram data, using a text editor or the Structorizer tool is best. For ship scheduling or voyage data, it is important to use the specialized maritime software designed for that purpose.
How to open NSD files
You need a suitable software like Structorizer to open an NSD file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your NSD file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a NSD file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert NSD files:
- Structorizer
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. NSD files are often referred to as Structorizer data files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- Nero (Super Video CD Compilation) by Nero AGNero’s digital media suite offers DVD/CD burning, editing and authoring, video, audio, photo, networking and back-up applications. Program ID is NeroSuperVideoType
- Norton System Doctor (Sensors Configuration) by Symantec CorporationMonitors System Activities (such as scanning disk for errors, monitors virus definitions, etc.). Continuously and Alerting User whether Something Wrong is Detected (such as disk errors, etc.).

NSD file format:
Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our analysis of the NSD files produces the following result:
The NSD file extension is not widely used. Such a file includes different formats for different programs. The following file formats are most commonly found in NSD files:
- 30% of all NSD files are using the well-known XML file format to store the data. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. A typical file size is 2 KB. The file type is relatively new. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>, output, preRepeat, postFor="to" preReturn="return", until, postForIn="in" preWhile="while and <root xmlns:nsd="https://structorizer.fisch.lu". Files like these are sometimes connected to aufgabe.
- 15% of all NSD files start with the magic bytes 72 7F 04, which are always the first bytes of this file format. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The files are often between 79 KB and 280 KB in size. The files contain the following words: ISO. Such NSD files store data about person-related data.
All other NSD files (55%) have different formats. These files are often connected to signal, algo, svcd, wave, struktogramm, express, maersk or ship. Just click the "Choose your .nsd file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your NSD file is.

an nsd data file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with NSD files
- Associate the NSD file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest NSD file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Structorizer update.
- To make sure that your NSD file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .NSD file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
