What is an OB file

OB files mostly belong to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. An OB file does not refer to a single, universal format. Its purpose depends on the software that created it. In some cases, this extension is used to store game save data such as that from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, where the file records your progress and in‐game states.
Other uses include:

How to open OB files

If you know the file format, you can also find out how to open or edit the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. Examples of file names are Profile_1.ob or Profile Settings.ob. Such files are related to settings, local and game.
• 10% of all OB files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "ëëßÃ" at the beginning. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. The files are 72 KB to 1 MB in size, with a median of 530 KB. page_0.ob or page_1.ob is a typical file name.
