Opening an OTT File
The OTT file type is primarily associated with Writer.
What is an OTT file?
OTT files mostly belong to Writer by Apache. An OTT file is a text document template saved in OpenDocument Format. The OTT file is essentially the same as an ODT document saved in the same format. It contains text, graphics, images, and embedded objects compressed into a single ZIP archive. However, Writer and other word processors identify an OTT file is a template and treat it as such. A single OTT template can be used as the boilerplate for creating multiple ODT documents. OTT is also the filename extension of Nokia phone ringtones.
How to open OTT files
You need a suitable software like Writer to open an OTT file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your OTT file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a OTT file directly in the browser:.
