PBA format details:
To find out what program is needed to open PBA files, you need to determine the file format. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. Nonetheless, different programs can utilize the same file extension to represent distinct file formats. Double-clicking on the file often results in an error when opening. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. In the following you will find our evaluation of the PBA files:
PBA is not a common file extension and includes different formats for different programs. The following file formats are most commonly found in PBA files:
- 45% of all PBA files utilize the Microsoft Compound File format, which is also known as Compound File Binary File format (CFBF or CFB) or OLE2 Compound Document format. Compound document files are used to structure the contents of a document in the file. It is possible to divide the data into several streams, and to store these streams in different places in the file. In this way compound document files support a complete file system inside the file, the streams are like files in a real file system, and the sections are like subdirectories. The Compound Document format is always starting with the bytes D0 CF 11 E0 A1 B1 1A E1. Sections and streams in the file are named BITMAP, MSGTXT, OBJECTS, PASSWORDS, SCREENVIEWS, SUMMARY and TAGS_AND_DEVICES. A typical file size is 170 KB. The file type was created 10 years ago, but is still used today. Some examples of file names are 2011133.PBA. Such PBA files store data about etoh.
- 25% of all PBA files use the same file format, which have the signature 0B F1 E4 54. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The file size is in the range of 90 KB to 5 MB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as i486_nt, Animation2, 000000, no description, Duration, Frames, Interval and millimeter Newton Second (mmNs). Some examples of file names are Animation2.pba or Animation1.pba.
The remaining 30% of all PBA files are files with no common format, such as CPcgcbbc. Sometimes used for base. If you want to find out what your PBA file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
