What is a SAL file?

SAL files mostly belong to Sigrok PulseView. The SAL file is mainly a Signal Acquisition Log file that uses ZIP compression to store digital signal data from measurement tools.
This file is used by Sigrok PulseView to capture and analyze signals from devices such as oscilloscopes.

The file often contains time-stamped waveform data and measurement logs.

When the file is used as an audio playlist, it is handled by Samsung Kies.

How do you open SAL files?

You need a suitable software like Sigrok PulseView to open a SAL file. SAL is one of the most common file extensions and mainly uses a defined SAL format. But the following two file formats are common:

• 70% of all SAL files use ZIP compression, that is, a SAL file includes multiple compressed files. The number of files included is on average 2 and ranges from 2 to 5. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as My Music. Some examples of file names are audio_play_list.sal or audio_play_list[1].sal. Such files are related to audio, list and play.
