What is an SDD file?
How to open SDD files
You need a suitable software like SecureDoc to open an SDD file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your SDD file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a SDD file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

SDD file format:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our examination of the SDD files comes to the following conclusion:
SDD is not a common file extension and includes different formats for the applicable programs. The two most popular formats are as follows:
- 45% of all SDD files start with the bytes 02 00 00 00 crucial for this file format. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. SDD files are between 26 KB and 3 MB in size. The file type was developed only in the last few years. Such files sometimes refer to docx, pptx and system.
- 15% of all SDD files use the same file format, which have the signature FF FF 01 00. They consist of unreadable binary data. The files are 19 KB to 68 KB in size, with a median of 60 KB. The files contain the following words: OPBOARD, OPBOARDT, TONLINE, TONLINETRESH, CDeviceInverter, Digitare qui il commento, MODBUS, SERIE and Drive1.
All the rest of the SDD files (40%) have different formats, such as StarOffice StarImpress presentation, ZIP and XML. Just click the "Choose your .sdd file to view" button on this page to find out what your SDD file is.
