What is an SHA file?

SHA files mostly belong to 7-Zip. A SHA file can serve several purposes depending on the context in which it was created.
In many cases, a SHA file contains a cryptographic hash generated by a Secure Hash Algorithm. Such checksum files hold a string of hexadecimal numbers which you can compare against a newly computed hash to ensure that the file you received has not been altered.
Some SHA files use a Microsoft Compound structure to embed drawing data. These files may represent a SmartSketch drawing that works much like a Visio or SmartDraw file and are managed by specialized design software (Hexagon).
Other variants use XML formatting to store dynamic shape data for industrial systems; for example, they hold Honeywell shapefiles used in HMI applications (Honeywell).
