What is an SLG file?

SLG files mostly belong to ArtCut. The SLG file is not a single standard file type. It is used in different areas to store instrument or process data.

How to open an SLG file

You need a suitable software like ArtCut to open an SLG file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. SLG file format:

To view or edit SLG files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. In the following you will find our evaluation of the SLG files:

SLG is not that commonly used as a file extension. This file type includes very many different file formats. But the following two file formats are common:

15% of all SLG files start with the bytes 12 1A 25 E1 00, which are crucial for this file format. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The file size is in the range of 65 KB to 65 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as Temperature/Humidity Logger. These files are attributed to logger, temperature and humidity.
15% of all SLG files have the same signature 53 00 69 00 6D 00 70 00 6C. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. SLG files can be up to 15 KB in size, but are often around 110 bytes - 4 KB. The keywords Simple Line Graph are typical for these files. These files are often associated with pentacle.
