What is a TDT file?

TDT files mostly belong to QuickTime by Apple. TDT is the filename extension of thumbnail image files created by solid-state AVCHD-enabled camcorders such as the ones marketed by Sony, Panasonic, and Canon. Such TDT files are thumbnails of images or videos captured with a camcorder. They are the preview (images) you see when you first open the media manager of a camcorder before clicking on specific video or an image file you wish to view. These thumbnails are stored in the /AVCHD/AVCHDTN/ directory alongside the TID file. How to open a TDT file

Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
