Opening a TI File

The TI file type is primarily associated with TerraIndex.

TIFile Extension TI
File extension: TI
File type:  specialized container

What is a TI file?

TI files mostly belong to TerraIndex. TI files are not one single format but a label for several file types used in specific disciplines. The primary use is as a project data file by TerraIndex. In this form the file acts as a compressed container (often using a ZIP structure) to hold geotechnical data exchanged in engineering projects.
Other applications include:
  • TI graphics and imaging files – Files associated with Texas Instruments. Some of these embed a TIFF structure for images and are used in devices or analysis software like those referenced at TI and ImageJ. Additional resources appear on SMSPower.
  • JSON-based traffic incident files – These are used to store traffic events, as seen with systems like the TomTom Traffic Index. More details are available at TomTom Traffic Index.
  • Telemetry data files – Employed in specialized setups like Arvus AgroView to capture remote data.
  • FilExt.com note: Determining which tool you need depends on the file's origin. Use the TerraIndex software for the geotechnical project data and the vendor-specific or universal viewers for TI graphics, TIFF images, or JSON contents.

How can I open a TI file?

You need a suitable software like TerraIndex to open a TI file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your TI file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a TI file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

    4. Timber (Compiler File) by Timber Development Team
Timber is a general programming language specifically aimed at the construction of complex event-driven systems. It allows programs to be structured in terms of objects and reactions, and the real-time behavior of reactions can furthermore be precisely controlled via platform-independent timing constraints.
