What is a TMD file?

TMD files mostly belong to MySQL by Oracle. A TMD file is a document created by TextMaker word processor. It contains text, graphics, bookmarks/hyperlinks, text formatting, and layout settings. Another type of TMD file is a temporary database created by MySQL relational database management system. It stores intermediate data which MySQL requires to recreate data saved in a table. A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. TMD is a very common file type and covers different formats for different programs. However, the following two file formats are common:

65% of all TMD files are TextMaker document files. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. The files are often between 9 KB and 170 KB in size. The file type was developed only in the last few years. These files are often associated with resume, letter, englisht, list, manual, form, comments, trabajo, church, design and bank, and usually contain person-related data.
8% of all TMD files use ZIP compression, i.e. a TMD file contains several compressed files. The number of files included is on average 12 and ranges from 1 to 14. File names are e.g. [Content_Types].xml, \_rels\.rels, \docProps\app.xml, \docProps\core.xml, \word\_rels\document.xml.rels, \word\document.xml, \word\fontTable.xml, \word\settings.xml, \word\styles.xml, \word\stylesWithEffects.xml, \word\theme\theme1.xml and \word\webSettings.xml. Tip: If you rename the file ending to .zip and then double-click it, you see the included files and images. The file size is in the range of 8 KB to 720 KB. The files contain the following words: [Content_Types].xml and R)NW. Files like these have the following tags: document, maker and text.

All other TMD files (27%) have different formats, often, for example, Jurassic Park, PSX TMD 3d Model, WorldMachine document and RIFF.
