What is a TPR file?

TPR files mostly belong to GROMACS. TPR files have several uses. The primary use is as a GROMACS topology file used in molecular dynamics. This binary file holds simulation parameters, molecule topology, and input data that a GROMACS run requires.

The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file.
