Opening TRU Files
The TRU file type is primarily associated with Specialized.
What is a TRU file
FilExt.com tip: This variety means the file must be opened with the software intended for its origin. Sometimes the file may be read with a basic text editor if it includes plain text metadata, but often a specialized application is needed for proper display and editing.
How do you open TRU files?
You need a suitable software like Specialized to open a TRU file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your TRU file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a TRU file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

TRU file format:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Below you will find our evaluation of the TRU files:
The TRU file extension is rarely used and includes very many different file formats. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 15% of all TRU files use the same file format, which have the signature File name: . The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. Most of these files are 310 bytes to 360 bytes in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. Artist: Ilmari Aalto, Download Link: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ed/Aalto%2C_Ilmari_-_Storm_-_Google_Art_Project.jpg, File name: Aalto1.jpg, Period: p19, Size and Year: 1915. Aalto1.tru is a typical file name.
- 10% of all TRU files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "COM: IFN/ENIT-database truth (label) file COM: http" at the beginning. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. A typical file size is 280 bytes. The files contain the following words: BDR: begin data record, COM: IFN/ENIT-database truth (label) file, COM: IfN, TU-BS, COM: http://www.ifnenit.com, ;AW2:aaA!la, COM: ae07_001.tif coming from pa021_0.tif, LBL: ZIP:1251;AW1 and X_Y: 449 119. ae07_001.tru is a typical file name.
All the rest of the TRU files (75%) have different formats, often, for example, FILE. They are often associated with line. If you want to find out what your TRU file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
