Opening a TTM File
The TTM file type is primarily associated with SiteVision.
What is a TTM file?
How to open a TTM file
You need a suitable software like SiteVision to open a TTM file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your TTM file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a TTM file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

- SiteVision by Trimble
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. TTM files are often referred to as SiteVision cads because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.

TTM file format:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the TTM files looks like this:
The file type with the extension 'TTM' mainly uses a special format. The following file formats are most commonly found in TTM files:
- 70% of all TTM files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "01 00 54 4E 4C 20 54 49 4E 20 44 54 4D 20 46 49" at the beginning. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. The files are 4 KB to 1 MB in size, with a median of 77 KB. The file type is very recent. The following keywords are characteristic: TNL TIN DTM FILE. Files like these have the following tags: surface, road, grade, existing, design, ground, survey, apron, built, faces, model, area, cell and pond.
- 20% of all TTM files start with the magic bytes VREP, which are always the first bytes of this file format. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. Most of these files are 31 KB to 1 MB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as VREP. A common filename is FrankaEmikaPanda.ttm.
All other TTM files (10%) have no consistent format. Often described as export or base. If you want to find out what your TTM file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
Technical Data for TTM File Extension
The following listing is compiled from the database produced by the 'Associate This!' program, selected data from the main FILExt database and file extension information submitted by users.

a ttm triangulated terrain model is a special file format by Trimble and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with TTM files
- Associate the TTM file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open triangulated terrain models. Because only the current version supports the latest TTM file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Trimble manufacturer website after an available SiteVision update.
- To make sure that your TTM file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .TTM file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
