Opening a TTP File
The TTP file type is primarily associated with Text Editor.
What is a TTP file?
This file extension TTP is used by different applications to store structured data. It may be a log or record file, a compressed archive, or even a template.
For example, one common use is as an EOS chat log or Table Tennis training record, where the file stores session data or performance details.
Additionally, some TTP files serve other purposes such as:
- Simulation Timetable: Used by a bus simulator to keep timetable data.
- Game Template: A JSON-based file that holds a Tetris template. This format is used in projects linked to Tropy. See more at Tropy.
- Compressed Archive: Some files are compressed using the 7-Zip (7z) method to package timetable data. More information is available at 7-Zip.
- Optimization Data: A file that stores data for the Traveling Thief Problem, used in specialized simulation or research software.
FilExt.com tips: To open a TTP file, use the software that created it. If the file is text based, a text editor may display its contents. For compressed files, a tool like 7-Zip will be needed. Always inspect the file header to determine its actual structure before selecting an application.
How to open TTP files
You need a suitable software like Text Editor to open a TTP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your TTP file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a TTP file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert TTP files:
- Text Editor
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. TTP files are often referred to as Text Editor data files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- Atari (TOS Executable With Parameters) by Atari(TOS-Takes-Parameters)
- Telelogic Tau Project
- TextTransformer (Project) by Detlef Meyer-EltzThe TextTransformer is a tool to analyze and transform texts. It integrates a parser generator, a debugger and a C++ interpreter into a single workbench.
- TimeTraces (Project) by TwoLogsTimeTraces is a time registration system especially suited for individual employees, for entrepreneurs and for small companies.
TTP file format:
The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the TTP files looks like this:
The TTP file extension is quite widespread and is mainly used by one program with a specific format. But the following two file formats are common:
- 80% of all TTP files use the same file format, which have the signature ttp. The contents of these files are partially readable by a human. A typical file size is 12 KB. The file type is a fairly new file format.
- 5% of all TTP files start with the bytes ----------------------- crucial for this file format. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. TTP files can be up to 3 KB in size, but are often around 450 bytes - 2 KB. The files contain the following words: ---------------------, Date, Time Table Trip File, [trip], and Created with Omsi Version 2.3.004.
The remaining 15% of all TTP files are files with no common format, often, for example, 7z, JSON, XML, UTF-16 (LE), DOC and PRO. Often described as custom, game, strongly, bounded, uncorr or corr. Drag & drop your file here to see the file format and a preview of your TTP file!

a ttp data file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with TTP files
- Associate the TTP file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest TTP file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Text Editor update.
- To make sure that your TTP file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .TTP file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
