Opening a TXP File
The TXP file type is primarily associated with PowerDesigner.
What is a TXP file
TXP files are not a single, uniform file type; they are a file extension used by many specialized applications.
These files serve different purposes depending on their origin:
- Data Model Files: TXP files often contain data models in an XML structure. They are produced by tools such as PowerDesigner, ERwin Data Modeler, or Toad Data Modeler and hold schema definitions and entity relationships.
- Touch Panel Configurations: Some TXP files are created for Xinje systems. They store settings for touch panels used in programmable logic controllers, like the Xinje OP Series PLC.
- Scientific Data Files: Certain TXP files contain time-resolved fluorescence (TTTR) data. These are used in specialized experiments and require dedicated analysis software. More info is available at Horiba.
- Tax Receipt and Accounting Files: In some cases, TXP files work as tax or receipt documents associated with systems such as Tango Gestión and can be integrated with accounting software like Sage 50.
- 3D Dental Archives: A few TXP files come as compressed (ZIP) dental scan data. They are used to store 3D dental models and are managed by applications like Trios or Ortho Studio.
- Audio Presets: There are TXP files that hold guitar amplifier presets and impulse responses, used with audio programs such as AmpliTube 5 and modifiable with editors like TGP-Editor.
- Texture Files for Gaming: Some TXP files store texture data that is used in video game development. They may be part of texture archives (for example, CRI Middleware's TXTPK Archive) or work with solutions like Game Texture Packer.
- Medical Reports: Occasionally, TXP files are employed to save medical or laboratory reports, as seen with applications like MediWin.
FilExt.com tips: Determining which application to use depends on the file’s source. Checking the file header or opening it with a text editor can reveal clues about its format. Use the specialized software associated with the file’s creation for proper viewing and editing.
How to open a TXP file
You need a suitable software like PowerDesigner to open a TXP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your TXP file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a TXP file directly in the browser:. TXP file format:
If you know the file format, you can also find out how to open or edit the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below you will find our evaluation of the TXP files:
Files with the TXP extension are quite widely used. This file type is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 30% of all TXP files are based on the well-known XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. A typical file size is 490 KB. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. The following keywords are characteristic: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>, CSAOName, ObjectType, Version, InternalVersion, ProductVersion, CSAOCaption, Model and PERModelOR. These files are often associated with model, data, physical, project, mysql, athletics, modelo, server and summer.
- 15% of all TXP files start with the bytes xinje_ crucial for this file format. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The files are often between 7 MB and 19 MB in size. The files contain the following words: xinje_display_file and Modify Time 2020. These files can be linked to program, touch, english and screen.
All other TXP files (55%) have different formats, the following 9 formats can be found: ZIP, config, Fecha and ADDRESS. Files like these are sometimes linked to szakorvosi, labor, lelet, svitinimu, master, system or rtplu. Just click the "Choose your .txp file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your TXP file is.
Technical Data for TXP File Extension
a txp model file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with TXP files
- Associate the TXP file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open model files. Because only the current version supports the latest TXP file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available PowerDesigner update.
- To make sure that your TXP file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
