What is a VSB file

VSB files mostly belong to Vector CANoe. VSB files are used in different work environments. The most common type is a vehicle signal binary file. This file is used with Vector Signal Builder systems, typically with tools like Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, to record and analyze vehicle sensor data.

KORG Synthesizer Files: These VSB files store synthesizer settings for the KORG SYSTEM-8 Editor. More details can be found at Korg.

How do you open VSB files?

You need a suitable software like Vector CANoe to open a VSB file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. VSB file format:

To view or edit VSB files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the VSB files looks like this:

The file type with the extension 'VSB' is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. But the following two file formats are common:

• 35% of all VSB files have the same signature icsbin. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. VSB files can be up to 650 MB in size, but are often around 320 KB - 83 MB. The file type was created recently. The files contain the following words: icsbin. Such files sometimes refer to databin, traffic, partition, capture, flash, logs and chime.
• 9% of all VSB files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "00 20 00 02 00 CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC" at the beginning. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. VSB files are between 150 KB and 10 MB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as 15.06.2010. Files like these are about inetpubwwwroot, picture, proddat, xylect, unit, xylem and nscs.

All other VSB files (56%) have no uniform format, frequently e.g. ZIP, JetDB, KORG, IopVoice and Set. Files like these are sometimes linked to song, book, sora, cgame, audio, microkey, digital or store. If you want to find out what your VSB file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
