What is a DIZ file?

DIZ files mostly belong to Notepad by Microsoft. DIZ is the filename extension of a plain text file containing a short description of the program(s), dataset, or collection of files in a ZIP archive. A DIZ file was originally used to provide a short description of an archive uploaded to a message board or file-sharing site. This file is usually named FILE_ID.DIZ.
