What is a GFX file?

GFX files mostly belong to GTA 5 by Rockstar. A GFX file contains game data used by various video games. GTA 5, for example, uses a GFX file containing radio definitions, Crusader Kings saves game character portraits in its GFX files, and Red Dead Redemption saves a bitmap font in its own GFX file. The Games Factory game development environment uses an extension (plugin) saved in a GFX file. Another type of GFX file is a JPG-based graphical boot menu used by easytoboot. RSView human-machine interface for monitoring/controlling factory automation equipment saves a user interface element in a GFX file.

How do you open GFX files?

You need a suitable software like GTA 5 to open a GFX file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
