What is an MCS file

MCS files mostly belong to iMPACT by Xilinx. MCS is the filename extension of raster image files created by Mathcad, a program used to validate scientific and engineering calculations. 8-bit Atari computers used a different MCS file type to store 160 x 192 pixel pictures captured with one of its imaging software. How to open MCS files

You need a suitable software like iMPACT to open an MCS file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
