What is an MVP file?

MVP files mostly belong to Movie Edit Pro by MAGIX. MVP filename extension is associated with video project files created with Movie Edit Pro or Video Pro X video editing software developed by MAGIX. An MVP file contains references to multiple media sources (e.g. MVD video files), effects, project configuration, edits, timeline etc. Multiple movie editing projects may be stored into a single MVP file or saved as backup in case the original file gets corrupted. The final editions of MVP video project files may be exported to video formats such as AVI, M2TS, or MOV. MVPstats, a statistical analysis and research software saves statistical datasets in MPV files. MoviePlus, a discontinued movie authoring software also saved video editing project data in MVP files. Such MVP files contained video/audio references, effects, project settings etc.

How to open MVP files

You need a suitable software like Movie Edit Pro to open an MVP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your MVP file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a MVP file directly in the browser:. MVP file extension format:

The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Our evaluation of the MVP files looks like this:

The MVP file extension is not found very often and includes different formats for different programs. However, the following two file formats are common:

• 40% of all MVP files use the popular RIFF file format. RIFF files store data in tagged chunks. There are primarily used to store multimedia such as sound and video. They consist of unreadable binary data. The average file size is 380 KB with most files being between 140 KB and 2 MB in size. It is a modern file type. • 25% of all MVP files are based on the zip format, so multiple files are compressed and stored together in one MVP file. An MVP file includes 6 to 9 files. Common included file names are LinkSets.xml, Root.xml, Sources.xml, auxiliary.xml, document.xml, export.xml, gallery.xml, story.xml and stylesheet.xml. If you want to see the included files and images, simply rename the file extension to .zip and double-click it. The file size is in the range of 3 KB to 18 KB. The following keywords are characteristic: document.xml. Files like these are about movie.
