PIN file format:
Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our evaluation of the PIN files is as follows:
The PIN file type is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. The following file formats are most commonly found in PIN files:
- 25% of all PIN files start with the bytes Pin, which are crucial for this file format. The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. The file size is in the range of 12 KB to 37 KB. The file type was developed only in the last few years. The files contain the following words: ============, Pinnacle Game, Pinnacle Game Profiler - Export, Program Files, FormatV4 and FormatV2. Examples of file names are The Witcher.pin. Files like these are about duty, call, warfare, witcher, callof and modern.
- 8% of all PIN files start with the bytes 0F 50 69 6E 70 6F 69 6E 74 20 56 31 2E crucial for this file format. They consist of unreadable binary data. The files are 49 KB to 1 MB in size, with a median of 700 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as CODEditProperties, CODDWordProperty and Pinpoint V1.8.0.
All the rest of the PIN files (67%) have different formats, often, for example, PAK. They are often associated with apydoi, uniprot, admin, fasta or sprot. If you want to find out what your PIN file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
