File Extension CAN

File type: Encrypted File

Notes about the CAN file extension:

Errors in your registry are one of the common causes for incorrect file associations on your windows system. It is highly recommended that you check your registry for file association errors (will also check for any other registry errors).

The CAN file type is primarily associated with '.Can Encryptor/Decryptor'. .Can is a way of encrypting your files, so they can not be viewed or accessed without decanning them. They can either just be canned or cancoded. The cancode is a 5 digit code that can be entered before canning and then has to be entered again when decanning. It's been reported that if the file has not been coded that a simple rename to the original file name will allow the file to be opened by the appropriate archive program (e.g., RAR, ZIP, etc.).
