All about ETP Files
The ETP file type is primarily associated with ATAS.
What is an ETP file?
ETP files mostly belong to ATAS. ETP files come in different types, and you need the right tool to open each one.
- Trading Indicator/Strategy Template: some of ETP files are used for trading. They carry data for technical indicators or trading strategies and work with platforms like ATAS or NinjaTrader. For more details on these files, visit ATAS.
- Encrypted Telegram Passport: some of ETP files are used to store encrypted Telegram Passport data. They may also appear as a spreadsheet template from Kingsoft. Opening these requires proper decryption tools or the Telegram application.
- Energy Simulation Project: some of these files are EnergyPlus project files compressed in ZIP format. These files hold project data for thermal studies or energy simulations and are used with engineering software.
FilExt.com note: Always use the specific application that matches the file’s origin. A trading indicator file will not open in a simulation program and vice versa.
How to open ETP files
You need a suitable software like ATAS to open an ETP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your ETP file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a ETP file directly in the browser:. How to solve problems with ETP files
- Associate the ETP file extension with the correct application.
