iGrafx is a Business Process Analysis (BPA) software tool. Business process analysis is the practice of examining processes within a business environment with the aim of improving efficiency and overhead. Several models exist that act as guidelines in improving such processes, with one of the more notable examples being Six Sigma, originally developed by Motorola. Six Sigma goes through 5 phases of Definition, Measurement, Analysis, Improvement and Control as a way to improve processes. Other methodologies follow their own methods
iGrafx acts as a graphical process modeling and simulation program in the BPA process. Process files created by iGrafx are saved as .IGX.
