Notes about the XDD file extension:
To open this file type, a required software must be installed. Without it you only see a Windows message "The following file cannot be opened
" (Windows 7) or "How do you want to open this file?
" (Windows 10) if you double-click the file. There click on "More apps"
and choose a suitable software to view such files on your PC or from email attachments.
The XDD file type is primarily associated with 'xfit'. Xfit is a map-fitting and molecular modeling program to display or manipulate models and fit data to electron density. xfit accepts .PDB files, phase files (in X-Plor, TNT, or CIF (SHELX List 6) format; .FCF is accepted as equivalent to .PHS), map files, .VU (vector or line) file, viewpoint (.VP) files, script (.SCRIPT) files, ridgelines (.BONES) files, and sequence (.SEQ) files.
