How can I open a UPT file?

You need a suitable software like ETABS to open a UPT file. UPT file extension format:

Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Below is our analysis of the UPT files:

The UPT file type is used by many programs, each with its own file format. The two most common formats are as follows:

• 10% of all UPT files have the same signature Unit . The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. UPT files are between 120 bytes and 240 bytes in size. The files contain the following words: General, Unit mm and 0.000000 0.000000.
• 8% of all UPT files start with the magic bytes $PMGN, which are always the first bytes of this file format. If you open these files in a text editor, you can view and read the content yourself. The files are on average 120 bytes in size and range from 73 bytes to 1 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as PMGNWPL and $PMGNCMD,END*3D.
