Ok, now it's personal....
This thing won't read cd's either. I put one in, take it out, it says this:
DVD-RW Drive (E:)
[CdName]
CDFS
And then:
E:\ is not accessible.

As far as I know, the sound card (somehow) got fried.
EDIT: Also, I turned on my speakers (had them off; they were useless) and I could make out the letter D coming out of the speakers (musical)....
