i downloaded this patch for battlefield 1942 and my cpu cant open it. idont know how to open it battlefield_1942_patch_v1.6.19[1] this is all it says

suppose it is a .exe file what should i do

Battlefield 1492 patch files are usually .EXE program files.

Are you certain you have your computer set to show common extensions?

Maybe you just can't see the .EXE extension.

im sure that all it says i set my cpu to show extensions

Then you can try to rename it to have an .EXE extension and hope (take that [1] off the end) or you can go to the fileplanet.com link above and redownload the patch file.
