What is an EFT file?

EFT files mostly belong to ChiWriter by Cay Horstmann. EFT stands for the Electronic Fund Transfer file format. This format is used to output a text file in a specified layout used by several banking and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. It lists the required bank account information and transaction amounts for employee payrolls, allowing companies and bank to coordinate payment of salaries and dues electronically. Once the file is created by the company, it can be sent to the company's partner bank, which can then transfer funds via direct deposit to the employee's account. The information is transferred using a fixed layout, which can vary from bank to bank. Some have a format where fixed field lengths are used, others use the Comma Separated Values (CSV) format. The EFT format is also associated with a lighting effect file used by Logitech Gaming Software, a program used to customize Logitech G gaming devices, such as mice, headsets, speakers, select wheels, and keyboards. It allows users to make several customizations, including a variety of lighting effects. These can be simple color schemes or complex animations, such as audio waves, spinning RGB colors, etc. EFT files contain lighting effects information, which includes the device layout and colors.

How to open an EFT file

You need a suitable software like ChiWriter to open an EFT file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
