All about BNC Files
The BNC file type is primarily associated with Proprietary apps.
What is a BNC file
BNC Files are not a single standard file type. Instead, they are used as internal data containers in different applications.
The files may be encountered in different contexts such as:
- 3D Model Files: Used in game graphics; for example, in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, BNC files store 3D models and related graphic data for use with the Spike Chunsoft Engine.
- CNC Bending Programs: Employed by applications like TruTops Bending and TruTops Bend to hold numerical instructions and design data needed by CNC bending machines. For more details, visit Trumpf.
- Binary Ninja Cache: Some BNC files are used as cache files in tools such as Binary Ninja. They may also contain compressed texture information.
- Binary Data Containers: In other cases, these files serve as generic binary data or as a corpus format for storing internal information.
- Bitmap Network Canvas: Certain BNC files store compressed PNG images and are known as Bitmap Network Canvas files. Additional info can be found at IMVU.
FilExt.com notes: Each variant is designed for a specific workflow. To open and view a BNC file, you must use the associated proprietary software or tool that created it. Without the proper application, the file content may not display or function correctly.
How to open BNC files
You need a suitable software like Proprietary apps to open a BNC file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your BNC file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a BNC file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert BNC files:
- Proprietary apps
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. BNC files are often referred to as Proprietary apps data files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- Bojanov Encryptor (Encrypted File) by Bojanov SoftwareEncode & decode files and their names. Encryption & decription is done with a right click on the file. It can decrypt and run the file with one click.
BNC file format details:
Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the BNC files looks like this:
BNC is not a common file extension and includes a lot of different file formats for different programs. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 20% of all BNC files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "AC 65 12 FE" at the beginning. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The average file size is 36 KB with most files being between 5 KB and 450 KB in size. The files contain the following words: PSCa. ariwall00.bnc is a typical file name. These files can be linked to kids.
- 15% of all BNC files start with the magic bytes BD SET_METRIC C BEGIN_KONFIGURATIONSDATEN C ZA, which are always the first bytes of this file format. These files are text files, so they contain words and text. A typical file size is 170 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as BEGIN_KONFIGURATIONSDATEN, SET_METRIC, ZA,MM,4, MM,AT,1, 10,1,1,,'Tabellenidentifikator' ,,,T, MM,AT,1, 20,1,1,,'Maschine' ,,,T and MM,AT,1, 3.
All other BNC files (65%) have different formats. Often described as cstml, nake, physics, bend, body or stnd. Just click the "Choose your .bnc file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your BNC file is.
Technical Data for BNC File Extension
a bnc proprietary data container is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with BNC files
- Associate the BNC file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open proprietary data containers. Because only the current version supports the latest BNC file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Proprietary apps update.
- To make sure that your BNC file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .BNC file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
