What is a CODE file?

CODE files mostly belong to Visual Studio Code, GraalVM. A CODE file is not defined by one single purpose. It may be one of several types depending on its origin.

Some CODE files are used as Graal game scripts that run as GraalVM bytecode for game logic in Graal Online.

How do you open CODE files?

You need a suitable software like Visual Studio Code, GraalVM to open a CODE file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. To view or edit CODE files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format.
