DCX format details:
The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our analysis of the DCX files produces the following result:
The DCX extension is very commonly used. This DCX file itself is among the most popular common file types and includes different formats for the applicable programs. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 65% of all DCX files start with the bytes DCX, which are crucial for this file format. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. Most of these files are 11 KB to 5 MB in size. It is a modern file type. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as DFLT and LDCS. An example of a file name is GameParam.parambnd.dcx. Such files are related to partsbnd, parambnd, msgbnd, common, menu, item, anibnd and objbnd.
- 15% of all DCX files belong to Graphics Multipage PCX bitmap. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. DCX files are between 59 KB and 2 MB in size. Files like these have the following tags: ataskaita, sample, personal and vault.
The remaining 20% of all DCX files are different files with different signatures, the following 5 formats exist: TIFF and QQQZZ. Files like these are sometimes linked to emevd, param, ffxbnd, game, chrbnd, regulation, sblytbnd, fontbnd, fefont, frpg or triu. a dcx bitmap is a special file format by XnSoft and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with DCX files
- Associate the DCX file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open bitmaps. Because only the current version supports the latest DCX file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the XnSoft manufacturer website after an available XnView update.
- To make sure that your DCX file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .DCX file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
