What is a LINK file?

LINK files mostly belong to systemd by systemd Contributors. A LINK file contains network link configuration which systemd system management service uses to manage network connections and devices. Such LINK files are saved in the /lib/system/network, /etc/system/network, and the /run/system/network folders. Another type of LINK file contains a link (Uniform Resource Locator) in a portal created with Jetspeed Java library. LINK is also the filename extension of plugin-related data used by some versions of Eclipse integrated development environment.

How do you open LINK files?

You need a suitable software like systemd to open a LINK file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
