What is a PC file?

PC files mostly belong to Personal Composer. PC files are C source files used by Oracle's Pro*C embedded SQL programming language.

Usage: PC files store the source code made up of both C and SQL. They are then interpreted by a precompiler and the SQL statements are replaced with C or C++ function calls to their respective SQL libraries. This output is then compiled by one of the C/C++ compilers into an executable file.
Other associations: PC could also refer to files used by the Linux pkg-config tool. They store information about libraries and packages on a given system. The information stored by these files includes compiler and linker flags necessary to use a given library, as well as any other relevant metadata. They follow a format inspired by RFC822. 30% of all PC files use the popular Java file format. This format is used to save Java objects to a file (ex. save game state as file) via object serialization.
