Opening ABI Files
The ABI file type is primarily associated with ChromasPro.
What is an ABI file?
- Main Use: ABI Coder is a file encryption application that is lightweight (~1 MB)and is effective in encrypting files into ABI format. Individual files as wells as a group of files can be encrypted into a single file with the file extension ABI. Before encrypting the files, it is mandatory to create a secure password of a minimum of 8-digits which is later necessary for decryption. ABI Coder secures the ABI files using three algorithms viz., 448-bit Blowfish encryption algorithm, 168-bit 3DES encryption algorithm and 256-bit AES encryption algorithm. The software also allows the user to choose the option between saving the encrypted data into a separate ABI file or rewriting the original file. Auto-decryption capability can also be embedded into ABI files by using this software so that the files can be decrypted without the need to install any additional software by running it as a standalone executable file on their Windows machine. ABI Coder software also features the capability to email the encrypted ABI file from the interface itself by redirected the user to an email client software on the computer.
- Adoption: ABI files can be opened using ABI Coder and ABI Secure Pro software which is compatible to run on Windows Machines. These software are deemed stable for running on Windows 98, XP, and 2000.
How to open ABI files
You need a suitable software like ChromasPro to open an ABI file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your ABI file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a ABI file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

How to solve problems with ABI files
- Associate the ABI file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open raw dna data files. Because only the current version supports the latest ABI file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Technelysium manufacturer website after an available ChromasPro update.
- To make sure that your ABI file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .ABI file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
