CPI format details:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. In the following you will find our evaluation of the CPI files:
The CPI file extension is quite widespread and predominantly uses a uniform format. But the following two file formats are common:
- 85% of all CPI files belong to AVCHD Clip Information. They consist of unreadable binary data. The file size is in the range of 640 bytes to 3 KB. The file type is old but is used even today. The keywords HDMV0100 are typical for these files. The following filename is common: 00000.CPI or 00001.CPI.
- 7% of all CPI files are using the well-known FreeArc file format to store the data. FreeArc is a modern open source file archiver which narrowly outperformed WinZip, 7-Zip, and WinRAR in its "best compression" mode. They consist of unreadable binary data. The average file size is 6 GB with most files being between 130 MB and 29 GB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as storing. Some examples of file names are data1.cpi or data.cpi. Files like these are sometimes connected to english, optional and voice.
The remaining 8% of all CPI files are files with no common format, such as MS-DOS International Code Page Info, Sietronics CPI XRD format and XPIH. Sometimes used for pack, install or video. Drag & drop your file here to see the file format and a preview of your CPI file!
