What is a CPI file?

CPI files mostly belong to Premiere Pro. CPI is a filename extension for the video clip information file located in the AVCHD/BDMV/CLIPINF directory of AVCHD digital video recording devices such Sony Handycam and Panasonic camcorders. A CPI file contains metadata such as the capture date, aspect ratio, frame rate, and frames per second of recorded video clips. CPI file extension is also associated with the Cartesian Perceptual Compression (CPC) image compression format. CPC Lite, a browser add-on for viewing documents stored in CPC format can be used to open CPI compressed documents. Calamus SL, a vector graphics design tool aslo saves vector images in CPI files. How can I open a CPI file?

You need a suitable software like Premiere Pro to open a CPI file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your CPI file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a CPI file directly in the browser:. How to solve problems with CPI files
