File type:  bitmap

What is a CT file?

CT files mostly belong to Photoshop by Adobe. CT filename extension is associated with high resolution images stored in the Continuous Tone (CT) bitmap file format used by Scitex workstations. Such a CT file contains an uncompressed 32-bit CYMK color image data, a control block, and a parameter block. CT image file format is mainly used in print applications such as banners, signage, newspapers, and magazines that require high quality images. You can view or edit CT images with Photoshop, CorelDRAW, XnView and many other graphics design suites. CT files may also contain bitmap images stored in IRIS CT file format. Cheat Engine, a video game modification program uses a different kind of CT file to save cheat tables containing game overrides used to modify game properties such as high scores, number of lives, weapons cache etc.

How can I open a CT file?

You need a suitable software like Photoshop to open a CT file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your CT file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a CT file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

CT format details:

The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the CT files looks like this:

The CT extension is very commonly found and is mainly used by one program with a specific format. But the following two file formats are common:

The remaining 22% of all CT files are different files with different signatures, often e.g. XML and luB. These files sometimes refer to image, circuito, card, game, inventory, assassin, edition, monster, editor, booty, calls, forza, ffxv or life. a ct bitmap is a special file format by Adobe and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.

How to solve problems with CT files

  • Associate the CT file extension with the correct application.
  • Update your software that should actually open bitmaps. Because only the current version supports the latest CT file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Adobe manufacturer website after an available Photoshop update.
  • To make sure that your CT file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
  • Click here to open your .CT file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
