What is a CUT file?

CUT files mostly belong to BPM Studio by ALCATech. Files that have CUT filename extension are usually bitmap images stored in Dr. Halo (graphics editor) bitmap image format. CUT bitmap image files contain graphics data stored as a series of scan lines and it supports up to 256 colors. You can view and edit CUT image files with programs such as PaintShop and XnView. CUT filename extension is also associated with cue points created by BPM Studio, a DJ mixing and music playback software for Windows. The cue points in CUT files allow DJs to quickly skip to different points in a track. How to open a CUT file

CUT format details:

The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Below is our analysis of the CUT files:

CUT is not a commonly used file extension and is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. But the following two file formats are common:

25% of all CUT files have the same signature H1*. These files are text files, so they contain words and text. CUT files are between 1 KB and 37 KB in size. The file type is relatively new.
10% of all CUT files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "GFF V4.0PC CUT V1.0" at the beginning. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The file size is in the range of 6 KB to 100 KB. The keywords AANI, ACSP, AFBE, CURV, CUT, FBEP, GFF V4.0PC CUT V1.0, TRAN, VERT, ACHT, ACTN and ASHK are typical for these files. Files like these are about ceremony, halla and guardian, and usually contain person-related data.

The remaining 65% of all CUT files are different files with different signatures, the following 5 formats can be found: RIFF, AMCOL and MGE. They are often associated with order, jeans or lady.
