DJVU file format:
Why is it important to know the file format? This is the only way to find out which program to use to open the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. In the following you will find our evaluation of the DJVU files:
The DJVU extension is very commonly found and mainly uses a special format. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 98% of all DJVU files are associated with DjVu. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. A typical file size is 6 MB. The file type is old but is used even today. The files contain the following words: AT&TFORM and DJVMDIRM. Files like these have the following tags: epdf, introduction, edition, physics, analysis, book, engineering and principles.
All other DJVU files (2%) have no consistent format. The category is handbook, guide, mathematics, mechanics, theory, libgen, modern or series. You can get all the details of your DJVU file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .djvu file to view" above.
